Rev. Marcellus “Bob” Evans is first and foremost “A Servant” of The Lord And Savior Jesus Christ, and He is Anointed and Appointed For Such A Time As This.
Rev. Evans is the youngest son of The Late Rev. Genelle Elmore Evans, Founder and Pastor of The Goodwill Pentecostal House Of Prayer in Brooklyn NY, where she served and retired after 35 years. He is a gifted and anointed organist and got his start at the very early age of 11yrs old, at Lovely Hill Baptist Church in Brooklyn NY. Later he became Goodwill’s organist and he served as Minister of Music until graduating high school. As a true testimony to the Word Of God, that your gift will make room for you and put you in the company of great men, Bob went on the road at age 17 traveling professionally as an Organist, Singer and Songwriter for some of todays most world renown gospel groups and true gospel pioneers and he traveled for over 38yrs.
Rev. Evans preached his initial trial sermon on July 19, 2009 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Lucia NC, under the leadership of Rev. Lawrence Grandberry. He also served the Ministry as their Minister of Music from 2001 until he officially retired from playing in 2012.
On June 1, 2012, Rev. Evans received his Credentials of Ordination from The Ordination Counsel of The Gaston County Missionary Baptist Association of North Carolina.
Rev. Evans served as an Associate Minister at The Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Stanley NC, under the leadership of his father in the ministry, Rev. Dr. Theodore Armstrong Jr.
From September 2015 until August 2019, God called Rev. Evans out of retirement and sent him to serve as the Minister of Worship at Greater Bethel AME Church on The Plaza in Charlotte NC under the leadership of Rev. Morris Reddon Jr. & Rev. Abdue Knox.
On August 11, 2019 Rev. Evans was called to Serve as Pastor at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe N.C. And was formally installed September 29, 2019.
Rev. Evans has been married 21 wonderful years to the lovely Mrs. Robin Meaders-Evans.
He also has two daughters, Simone & Brittany, one son-in-law Micheal, and four grandchildren, NyAsia, Lenneyah, Ellijah, and Micheal Jr. Rev Evans’ favorite scripture is found in Matthew 6:33. “But Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all theses things shall be added unto you”. Rev Evans truly and sincerely has a great heart for God’s people and He takes much pleasure and great pride, always counting it a privilege to Teach and Preach The Word Of God To All.
